Day #- sometime after treatment has ended and two hospital stays have been endured…

Katie, skin care. My very fav.

Update. After a 2nd unplanned hospital stay for Neutropenic fever and infection, I’m happy to report my levels are mostly back to normal and I’ve been home for days getting back to healing! Weaning off pain meds and taking good care of rest and nutrition will be my new goals. I only expect to continue to improve. I still see radiation oncology to check my skin, my general well being, and do skin care. Check in with oncology Monday as well. Still pretty uncomfortable but better. Trying to get up and move around and do small tasks when possible as well. Mentally in a pretty good place especially when I’m home with my people. So incredibly grateful for my tribe and all that has been done for us to help us through this experience. A meal is likely a small extra thing for y’all to do but for us it’s a major thing. It’s one thing I don’t have to worry about so I can focus elsewhere. A card sent is likely a very easy heartfelt task for y’all but to receive them is like a hug or a pat on the back ‘Keep going’ ‘I got your back’. You never know how large your tribe is, til you know. You never know how loved you are, til you know. You never know how wonderful a community of people can rally together to become, til you know. You never know how grateful you will be, til you know. You never know, til you know. I love all of you. Now you know. ❤️

Welcome to my tribe. I was diagnosed with anal cancer 2/23/21, then found out it was caused by HPV. This is the journey.
