Day 40- final day of treatment

Hugging the machine goodbye. Forgot to tell me the back of the gown was open. 🤣

I made good use of my time today in the machine. I am grateful for this machine. I thanked it for saving my life. I touched the inside of it today for the first time. I thanked the rad therapists as well. Gave hugs. I so appreciate this part of my team. They have seen the worst. My tears. Etc. They’ve also seen my funny too 🤣 Then off to skin care and Dr E. All is well. Particularly painful exam but 🤷‍♀️ will only get better with time. Was very grateful to have my hand holder today. Went over the timeline and skincare instructions. Everyone was so happy it was my last treatment day. Lots of excitement in the hallway today. I don’t have to say goodbye to radiation docs and nurses, yet. 2 weeks maybe. Rest well tribe!

Welcome to my tribe. I was diagnosed with anal cancer 2/23/21, then found out it was caused by HPV. This is the journey.
